Chamomile has longstanding medicinal and spiritual uses. It's considered an alternative medicine for insomnia, anxiety, menstrual disorders, skin disorders, migraine, and many more.
Lavender, with a wide range of medical benefits, pairs wonderfully with chamomile in this calming, relaxing tea/tisane. Lavender tea is being used to purify the body and spirit, and eliminate headaches, insomnia, depression and fatigue.
Add fresh mint leaves to garnish but also to give it a pungent aroma...
Ingredients to make Fresh Mint Puffs with Cheese
- 2 tsp loose chamomile tea
- 1 tsp dried lavender flowers
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 slice of lemon (optional) or 3-4 fresh mint leaves
- Put the chamomile and lavender flowers in a teapot. When the water boils pour it into the pot and infuse all for at least 5 minutes.
- String the tea into a serving glass or cup and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and/or a slice of lemon.
- You can use honey to sweeten it.
You can pour boiling water (not more than 1/4 cup) over a handful of fresh mint leaves and let it sit for a few minutes. Just add the mint water to your chamomile and lavender tea for an additional soothing affect.
You can add a tiny drop of lavender essential oil into your tea. This oil is very strong... one tiny drop goes a long way!
